I Need You

Song by the Swift

My heart is restless in me
My wings are all worn out
I'm walking in the wilderness
And I cannot get out

I need You, oh I need You
Blessed savior come
I need You, oh I need You
Fill the every longing of my soul

Oh how I need You Lord
I need Your perfect word
With tearful eyes I see
The sin that I afford
I need to weep and pray
For all the thousand ways
That I have failed You just today

And my bed is soaked with sadness
My sadness has no end
A downward spiral of despair
That I keep falling in

I need You, oh I need You
To You my soul shall fly
I need You, oh I need You
Yahwey how I love you more than life

Oh how I need You Lord
I need Your perfect word
With tearful eyes I see
The sin that I afford
I need to weep and pray
For all the thousand ways
That I have failed you just today

Your silence is like death to me
So won't You hear my desperate plea

Today my soul is soaring
Way over mountains high
Though I can see the valleys
They are all just passing by
Its not that I am stronger
Look at my feeble wings
But I've been lifted higher
Yahwey's lifted me in His own strength

Oh how I love You Lord
I love your perfect word
With tearful eyes I see
The God who always will endure
Now I will celebrate
For all the thousand ways
That you have shown me grace

And made my heart in grace to stay
You made my heart in grace to stay
Lord, make my heart in grace to stay
I need You, oh I need You

I don't know how to write in this blog anymore. I need some time. My sweet friend and
sis-in-Law, Michelle, passed away this past weekend.

Unyielding Heart

Unyielding heart
that refuses to soften.
Self righteous pride
that will not be broken.
Angry spirit that has turned away.
A temper-tantrum flares ~
fists raise
feet stomp
voice swears ~
And time stops.

A love that awaits
a heart's reception.
Grace that cleanses
the sin and deception.
A Divine hand that holds on tight.
Love pours out ~
Arms open wide
feet moving toward
voice that whispers ~
And time moves forward.

A Little Laugh On A Rainy Day

I love Pinky & The Brain. If you have two minutes and need a little laugh on this rainy Monday afternoon, click HERE to see a clip of my favorite characters.

All God's Creatures Great & Small

The march is on. March of the war hungry critters, trying to overtake The Hill. Every Spring the insect life of Stump Woods and Stump Hill gather themselves together and attempt to take back what once belonged to them. They fight to become kings of the Hill once again. And every year mass casualties occur and bodies lay dead everywhere. I have hardened my heart towards them. I am The Ant Killer. But I hate it. I have killed so many ants between my fingers (a paper towel was involved, no worries) and have heard and felt their bodies crunch as their exoskeletal bones break under the power of my index finger and thumb. I cringe at the the thought of having to once again take up arms - I mean fingers. And not only do we have rivers of waging war ants, the spiders (evil looking things they are) take up their cause as well. Even the toads get in on the action, of which I utilize my car to flatten them out (this is an unfortunate casualty of war - I really don't mind an occasional toad or frog, but I can't be held responsible if they get in the way). And we have many varieties of beetles which do their best to become warriors - although their attempts are more humorous than anything. Eventually we will reintroduce chemical warfare. And this year we're pulling out the all the stops - we are investing in the most deadly chemical money has to offer. Hopefully I won't have to kill as many ants now.

Once the invasion has been squelched, I will once again be able to enjoy the wildlife of Stump Woods. I love my two hawks, the hummingbird lovers, and the deer. Once, while I was walking up our lane in the morning, a fox ran across right in front of me! We have plenty of fat groundhogs, of which I would love to thump with a wiffel ball bat. And those squirrels are playful and wilely. Hubby and Hurricane EE try to hunt them with their bb guns, but those things are too smart! Somehow they all disappear when when the predators come a-huntin'. Of course we have an occasional snake. But I don't mind them. And bats, which are a bit weird to watch during our campfire chats. I keep hoping to hear the owl. But I think he might have moved on. Somewhere in the woods, if she survived, is Noel's pet - Kisses the Killer rabbit. See her story HERE.

So welcome Spring! And down with the Invaders!

Leaning On The Everlasting Arms

Sometimes words to hymns come to my mind more easily than words from the Bible. Tonight, while discussing with my hubby the hard time we're facing together, the words to this hymn came to mind. I have a book called Then Sings My Soul by Robert J. Morgan. In it he writes the words to many popular hymns and the stories that go with them. I looked up this song. Although, truthfully, the words to it, (besides the chorus), weren't quite calming, the verse that inspired the hymn was, along with this quote from Charles Spurgeon.

Deuteronomy 33:26&27(NIV)
"There is no one like the God of Jeshurun,
who rides on the heavens to help you
and on the clouds in his majesty.
The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms ..."

The same verses in the Message
"There is none like God, Jeshurun,
riding to your rescue through the skies,
his dignity haloed by clouds.
The ancient God is home
on a foundation of everlasting arms ..."

God, the eternal God, is our support at all times, especially when we are sinking into deep trouble. There are seasons when we sink quite low .... Dear child of God, even when you are at your lowest, underneath are the everlasting arms. ~ Charles Spurgeon

Too Cool

I'm just playing around - however, I finally figured out how to include slideshows to my blog! Lucky You!

Fun Sunday

Sleeping With The Enemy

In respect to the lateral authority - I will not be writing this story. But here is the picture - perhaps you can figure out the riddle. For those of you who already know the story, you are not allowed to answer, but for those who don't - I'd love to hear what you think the story is about! Here's a hint - it was recommended to me to wrap myself in aluminum foil.

Easy Baked Ravioli

Here's an awesome pasta recipe I got from the Food & Family Kraft recipe magazine in their Spring of '07 edition. I love this magazine which comes to me by mail about 4 times a year. Click on the link above to go to their website.

EASY BAKED RAVIOLI

2 tsp. Kraft House Italian Dressing
1 medium red pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 pkg. (15 oz.) DiGiorno Marinara Sauce
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (optional)
1 pkg. (9oz.) DiGiorno Four Cheese Ravioli,
cooked, drained
1/2 cup Kraft Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim
Mozzarella Cheese

* I use a my favorite marinara sauce in a 26 oz. size Jar. And I don't use that particular ravioli, it's good with a generic one. And I prefer to use whole milk mozzarella cheese.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat dressing in large skillet on medium heat; add peppers and onions. Cook and stir 2 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in marinara sauce and crushed red pepper.

Spread 1/2 cup of the sauce mixture onto bottom of shallow 11x7 inch baking dish.

Cover with layers of half each of the ravioli, remaining sauce mixture, and cheese. Repeat layers. Cover with foil. (I don't cover with foil because I like the exposed ravioli edges a little golden and hardened a bit). Bake 25 minutes or until heated through.

Makes 4 servings.

Make-Ahead: This dish can be made up to a day ahead of time. Prepare as directed, except for baking. C over with foil; refrigerate. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 deg. and bake 30-35 minutes or until heated through.

Physical Labor

I'm all pooped out - what a bummer! I finally can write and I don't have the energy to! I spent 6 hours doing heavy physical labor. I don't want to talk about it.

And I have a great story to write. But I must wait for my camera to get back home because I want to include pictures for that post. Here's a little hint to keep you coming back - the post will be titled "Sleeping With The Enemy". Sounds juicy doesn't it? You bet it is! Hopefully I'll be able to write about it tomorrow. So come on back!

Staying Alive - Staying Alive, Ah Ah Ah Ah ...

It feels so weird writing again! I have so many stories to tell you! Everyday I'm talking to you inside my head (that's why they call me Sista Insane).

I'm doing well. He hasn't zapped me yet - but He isn't finished either. This happens to be perfect timing with Easter. I'm getting this unwanted invitation from Him to become real and vulnerable - He wants to show me my shit. I thought I was supposed to invite Him to sit with me in my mire. Apparently He's not waiting around for that! And I've gone too long ignoring my depravity, only glancing at it through my peripheral vision. So, again, this is perfect timing with Easter. He's the Master Time Manipulator, all-the-while living outside time itself.

A correction before I check out: In my post about finding hope, Natalie Grant did not sing the song, "It Might Be Hope". Sara Groves did. Sorry for the wrong info. Click on her name for the lyrics.

And, if you have time, check out the Painted Prayer Book blog (by Jan Richardson) on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. She is an awesome writer who at the end of her posts asks some thought provoking questions. She is reusing her posts from last year, and if you click on each picture, you can read what she writes about for each of these very special days. She is an artist, poet, Methodist minister, spiritual director, writer ... check out her info.

I'm looking forward to Resurrection Sunday! I'll check back in next Monday. (That rhymed!)
